Kasbah Tal’fin is a youth-led feminist initiative and platform. We envision a Morocco where women and youth are free and equal.

What does Kasbah Tal'fin stand for ?

Kasbah, draws its name from the Maghrebi Arabic word ‘قَـصَـبَـة,’ translating to ‘Kasbah.’ This name finds its inspiration in the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, a fortress and historic monument nestled in the ancient city of Agadir, Morocco. It pays homage to the birthplace of the visionary founder of Kasbah Tal’Fin.

The term ‘Tal’Fin’ carries profound meanings in Maghrebi Arabic. Firstly, it translates to ‘Until When?’ in Arabic (‘الى متى’), symbolizing a question directed at the persistent inequalities in Morocco. It encapsulates our vision for a Morocco where women and youth can thrive in freedom and equality.

‘Tal’Fin’ means ‘Lost’ in Moroccan Darija. This term resonates with the plight of those enduring inequalities and feeling adrift in the complexities of Moroccan society. At Kasbah Tal’Fin, we aspire to be a beacon of hope, navigating towards a future where these disparities come to an end, and every individual finds their way to a brighter tomorrow.
